It's called spatial disorientation. Pilots lose all sense of up, down, left, and right. The scariest part isn't the confusion. It's the certainty that comes with it.
I see this in CEOs constantly. The plan looks meticulous, the margins are healthy, but the business hasn't actually grown in years. Improvement projects feel like growth until you check the instruments.
